A new animal care center in the Bronx will provide necessary care and adoption services for animals in our borough.
The Bronx was previously the only borough without a full-service animal care center.
"There's going to be rooms for cats, for dogs... and 30 other animals," said Joxel Garcia, first deputy commissioner of the NYC Health Department. "This shows the commitment of the city of New York, the mayor and the Department of Health, all their agencies to actually protect our four-legged friends."
There will also be smaller self-contained pods for animals that will allow greater flexibility and easier care for the pets in the facility.
