Workers in the Bronx wish they could stay indoors with temperatures feeling like it's in the teens, but for some there is no option.
Those who must wait for a bus to get around say they dressed in layers because sometimes it could take about 20 minutes for the bus to arrive. According to the city health department, layering is the best way to stay warm when the temperature dips. Workers who make a living selling food from a cart do the best they can by drinking hot beverages. In some cases, the carts actually have heaters.
The good news for Bronx workers is that forecasters predict next week will be back in the 40s and 50s.
