Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams announces mayoral run

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams is joining the growing number of candidates running for mayor.
Adams announced his candidacy in a four-minute YouTube video titled "Rise up."
In it, he talks about getting in trouble with the law when he was 15 and then getting beaten up by the arresting officer.
Adams says that encounter is what led to him to become a police officer and then the first person of color to be elected to serve as the Brooklyn borough president.
