The final goodbye was said today in Carroll Gardens for Deputy Chief Charles Scholl, who served in the NYPD for 41 years.
Officers and loved ones packed Court Street for his funeral at St. Mary Star of the Sea. Scholl's friends say he was always there when they needed him. Scholl grew up in Brooklyn and spent most of his career fighting crime on those very streets.
Scholl told News 12 in a past interview about how he loved his job, that he worked with the best and if he could stay another 20 years he would because there was nothing more he wanted to do than be a part of the NYPD.
Attendees today also said he was Brooklyn and that he will be greatly missed.
