A Brooklyn couple has opened their second club location in Greenpoint with the goal of it being a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community.
Club Lambda is the new spot in town where club-goers can dance the night away under a disco ball and neon lights.
The Brooklyn club is an expansion of their Lambda Lounge in Harlem that opened back in 2020. The hangout became so popular that celebrity guests from Meagan Good to Lil Nas X were seen visiting.
At a time when owners Charles Hughes and Richard Solomon says Brooklyn lacked nightlife, specifically geared toward the LGBTQ+ community, their new location now fills that void.
"There was a space that used to exist here in Brooklyn for the LGBTQ+ community that closed. We thought it'd be dope to kind of capitalize on that void that was left. And now we're the only LGBTQ+ nightclub in New York City."
The two say they got the idea to open a club after launching their own vodka line, Lambda vodka, five years ago. With the success of their businesses, they're now looking to expand outside of New York.
"Our goal is to have 10 Lambda locations across the country. We definitely need spaces that are accepting of us, not just tolerate us."
