Mayor Eric Adams and elected officials attended a fete at the Brooklyn Navy Yard Sunday night to kick off carnival celebrations scheduled throughout the city on Monday.
The party lit up the shores of Brooklyn and drew thousands from throughout the entire city.
Excited residents arrived with colorful outfits and even brighter vibes.
Adams came out briefly to greet everyone during the fete.
The fete came ahead of the celebrations of Caribbean culture throughout the city and just hours before the long-awaited Labor Day parade.
Other elected officials also joined in on the festivities to remind New Yorkers on why the celebration was important.
