Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, a company based in Brooklyn, is voluntarily recalling over 4,000 pints of their Brown Sugar Chunk flavor.
The recall comes after it was revealed that it contained undeclared walnuts. Those with a severe allergy run the risk of a serious reaction if they consume the product.
The 14-ounce pints were distributed nationally in retail stores, and the recall does not apply to any other flavor or variety of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream.
Consumers who have bought the flavor should return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
