A Brooklyn man has been arrested in connection with the rape and robbery of a woman in the Bronx.
Police say Lynneke Burris, 30, followed a 23-year-old woman into the Andrew Jackson Houses in the Melrose section of the Bronx, where he choked her in the elevator, dragged her up a stairwell and raped her.
The victim's mother told News 12 that the suspect also tried to force her daughter, who's a high school teacher, to smoke crack cocaine and robbed her of her credit cards, in addition to taking out large sums of cash after the incident.
News 12 cameras captured Burris being walked out of the Special Victims Unit in the Longwood neighborhood.
Police say Burris has 21 prior arrests. He now faces charges that include rape, robbery, strangulation and predatory sexual assault.
