The coronavirus pandemic has brought many changes, but for some expecting moms staying healthy and in shape is a necessary routine.
One local trainer is hoping to keep expectant mothers healthy without having to leave their living rooms.
On a normal day, Annie Rodriguez trains her so-called "Barre Babes" at Chalk Gyms in Williamsburg.
However, during these current times of social distancing, she has moved her practice online.
"I didn’t know that this was going to happen, but I felt like I needed to stay home and I wanted to still connect with everybody," says Rodriguez.
She broadcasts her class via Zoom.
"I feel very good after every class and even a word you know across the screen, I can feel everyone’s energy we’re all moving together, and it feels incredible," says Rodriguez.
As a mom herself and with one on the way, Rodriguez says there is always room for pilates.
“There’s nothing magical that happens when you become pregnant that you suddenly can’t move anymore it’s an ever-evolving thing," says Rodriguez.
She says being in self-quarantine won't stop her from proving that mothers are not limited by their pregnancy.
“You do what you do as long as it feels good to do it," says Rodriguez.
