If you walk past Budega NYC on the corner of Third Street and Fourth Avenue in Park Slope, it looks like your classic city bodega. But they're not selling chopped cheeses – they’re selling cannabis products.
The business had the grand opening on Friday. Co-founder Louis W. Colon III says the goal is to destigmatize the cannabis shopping experience and mirror the consumer experience one would have at a bodega.
“You know the person there, you were able to get quality goods or whatever you wanted at any time of day. We want to have that kind of connection to the consumer and the community," he says.
The store will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Owners told News 12 that they plan on getting deliveries up and running soon. They also say they plan on opening a cafe next door that serves coffee, buttered rolls, and other delicacies in the fall.
