9h agoThe New York Psychotherapy and Counseling Center on Wednesday hosted an antibullying fair to offer information and resources to prevent bullying.
Over a dozen organizations and agencies took part in the event that focused on preventing bullying, gun violence prevention and mental health initiatives.
“We are here to bring awareness to the problem,” said New York Psychotherapy and Counseling Center’s Elliott Klein. “Bullying is a nationwide problem, and we want more people to be aware of it so we can fight against it.
The New York Psychotherapy And Counseling Center treats over 20,000 children, teens and adults each year.
“Bullying should always be reported no matter the threats that you may receive, no matter what you're dealing with at home,” added youth advocate Evans Rivera. “We are handing out resources to help with bullying because your voice should be heard.”
Many of the organizations offer a 24-hour hotline for those in need of someone to talk with.
