Families across the borough participated in "Spider Day" at Wave Hill in Riverdale Sunday.
Children got to check out eight-legged creatures up close and learn about the species all while making wearable spider art.
Families also got to chat with an entomologist and have all their spider questions answered.
"We learned how they make webs and it's really cool. I'm learning about them, so once you understand something you kind of aren't as afraid of it," says 9-year-old Rose Overstein.
