The Fourth of July holiday is considered one of the busiest vacation travel weekends of the summer, according to the American Automobile Association (AAA). AAA officials estimate a slight increase in the number of people taking car trips over the holiday weekend compared to last year. To keep drivers safe and reduce stress while driving AAA is offering some tips. Officials say plan ahead, know your route, and have a backup plan to get there in case of traffic. Also, take occasional breaks. Before heading out of the Bronx, AAA officials say Bronx drivers should buckle-up, because more than 60 percent of people killed in car crashes were not wearing seat belts. They also advise not to speed or drink and drive. According to AAA, July Fourth is the deadliest day of the year to be behind the wheel.
