Bronx parents will be holding a bake sale to raise money to hire experts to review a contaminated school site. The parents say they are worried the site in Mott Haven is still contaminated and dangerous for their children. They previously asked the city to spend $11 million to have environmental experts review the reports that have been released on the state of the site. The city rejected the request, saying it has gone above and beyond its legal requirements. The Department of Education says it has also incorporated all of the recommendations made by an independent consultant. The parents say they are hoping the bake sale will raise awareness about the issue and help raise the $11 million needed to hire the experts.
