As the 14th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks approaches, residents gathered for the annual memorial to remember the lives lost.
The event, organized to remember the 144 Bronx residents lost in 9/11, was held at Lou Gehrig Plaza, located at East 161st Street and the Grand Concourse.
Marisol Torres and her family attended the event to honor their loved one, Manuel de Valle Jr., a firefighter killed during the attacks.
"We find comfort in these ceremonies, in knowing that our loved ones are not forgotten," said Torres.
Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. was also present to show his support.
