A one-of-a-kind Bronx toy store is calling itself the answer to parents? concerns after the recent string of toy recalls.
Exotiqa International Arts offers toys with non-toxic paints and not a lot of plastic. The store also carries classic wooden toys that are child safe and have a vintage flare. Handmade dolls, wooden blocks and puzzles round out the selection.
Store owner Paul Klein says parents have to take on some of the responsibility when it comes to toy safety and their own children. Exotiqa, however, takes on some of that responsibility as well. Klein says with each new line he carries, he checks with the vendor to see that the company followed proper testing protocol.
