A lot of parents voiced their concerns about no sprinklers at a Canarsie Park after the park was vandalized at the beginning of the month.
Now there is a temporary sprinkler in place, but parents say that the temporary system is not large enough to help local kids cool off during the summer heat.
“They should take action as quickly as possible,” said Jean Estime, one concerned parent. “It’s very, very terrible, especially today… fix the water pipes for kids to come and enjoy the water.”
The city Parks Department says it is repairing the main sprinklers, but the temporary one will remain in place until then.
