A group of cancer survivors says a program at a Bronx hospital has given them support and helped them get through the pain of the disease.
Six women and a man who were once diagnosed with cancer say they are living not only to talk about the disease, but to dance about it, thanks to a program at Montefiore.
The dance workshop is part of Montefiore's Bronx Oncology Living Daily, or BOLD, program.
As breast cancer survivor and volunteer Denise Mack puts it, battling cancer is all about support.
"They didn't know what it was like," she says. "When I was by myself, and the torment that I experienced. They didn't know that part. So being a survivor and volunteer I've been in a place where patients are going through now."
