Morning traffic on the Cross Bronx Expressway was slower than usual this morning due to a car fire.

The incident occurred on the westbound lanes of the Cross Bronx at Rosedale Avenue just before 9:30 a.m. The expressway had to be temporarily closed down to allow firefighters to quickly put out the flames.

No injuries were reported, and officials have not released what caused the fire. The Cross Bronx was reopened around 10 a.m.
