It was a touching send-off for Jane Morris on Sunday, who has been coaching basketball players since the 1970s at Cardinal Spellman High School.
Morris came to the school as a freshman in 1967 and was a star on the team. After graduation, she started coaching girls team all while being a college student. Since then, she’s recorded more than 800 wins and has led her teams to several championships.
The athletic department says that through her work, Morris touched the lives of thousands.
During the ceremony, it was revealed that the court at the high school will be named after her.
Morris says she will continue to teach at the school and be involved in the athletic program.
