Police are searching for a man and woman for placing a Bronx Family Dollar employee in a chokehold after refusing to pay.

Police are searching for a man and woman for placing a Bronx Family Dollar employee in a chokehold after refusing to pay.
Surveillance video shows a man and woman attempting to leave the Family Dollar located at 1227 Webster Ave. without paying. When a 23-year-old employee confronts them, the female suspect places the worker in a chokehold before fleeing in an unknown direction with the stolen items.
Police say the incident happened Aug. 14 around 3:30 p.m.
The female suspect is described as 5 feet, six inches tall with a heavy build and long black hair in braid. The man is bald with gray facial hair and has a slim build.
The employee who was attacked, was treated for minor injuries by EMS on scene.
“I was scared but I was trying to defend myself too,” the employee said. “It's bad, especially in this area, Webster is very bad."
Authorities are asking anyone with information on the suspects to contact them.
