Measles cases in the United States have now reached a troubling number.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported 58 confirmed cases in 17 states, including in New York and New Jersey.
The number is as many as all of last year.
The most recent outbreak happened in Chicago with 12 cases this year.
There were 121 cases reported in the country in 2022, and in 2019 more than 1,200 cases were reported across 31 states. That was the most since 1992.
