The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says there are 45 probable cases of monkeypox throughout the United States.
Health officials say 10 people have tested positive for orthopoxvirus in New York City and are all likely cases of monkeypox. The CDC says the virus can spread through direct contact with the body fluids of someone who has monkeypox.
The CDC says there is a vaccine for monkeypox and that they will increase testing if they need to.
