All right. Well, let's check back in now. We are dealing with this bitter blast still. We're checking in with teen meteorologist Scott Skoff. Now, Scott, you said today is not the end of these cold temperatures. I know it's the holiday season so I need to just get used to it. But man, yeah, there's a song that comes to mind. Follow la la la, la, la la oy because that's what we're looking at with colder temperatures. Even on the way into tomorrow, we're gonna be seeing these feels like temps staying in the twenties. But as we go to the end of the week, things are gonna be warmer but it comes with a catch rain is on the way, but those feels like temps can be the twenties all day long. So bundle up, keep yourself warm layer, have your jacket, your gloves, your scarf or hand warmers, reduce your time outside even with your furry friends too. Because as we go into the rest of the day today, we are going to be seeing these temperatures drop into the teens. That's what it's going to feel like for the start of your hump day tomorrow. So definitely even colder air ahead of us as we are looking at. Yes, a little bit of, I say it's snow. These have produced snow squall warnings over in northeast Pennsylvania and northwestern New Jersey. These snow showers are continuing to push on in towards us here in the city and you could even see those snow bands look to the north and west. This is a view from Kingsbridge and the Bronx. You can see those snow bands moving towards the city. So definitely the possibility is there towards the afternoon. I'm thinking between two and six o'clock in the afternoon, it's going to be some festive flakes, nothing accumulating but still be pretty to look at. Make sure to use the hashtag and 12 Storm Watchers on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and even post them to the news 12 app for the latest. And if you want to send your pictures in because it is going to be beautiful and by 67 o'clock should be done, we are going to be seeing that cold air come on and going to be in the twenties by the morning will feel like the teens and with that wind, that's going to be the big driving factor behind it. 20 to 30 mile per hour gusts through the rest of the day today and that will be lingering into tomorrow as well. So it's gonna be cold, it's going to be windy. It's gonna feel like the twenties even though the high temperature around 40 degrees with those blustery brisk winds gusts up to 30 MPH twenties overnight. But we feel like the teens because that breezy wind and all that cold air, the good news is we are going to be seeing that feels like temp go way up Thursday into the forties. So that's light at the end of the tunnel and then Friday fifties with the chance of rain. Same story, Sunday, Monday with milder temperatures as we enter the month of December on Friday.

City. All right, let's bring hope back for another check of that hyper local forecast and the bitter blast. We're all feeling it's been a while since we've seen temperatures really this low hope and, you know, we know about the gloves and the hat and the scarf, but there's some other tips we need to probably remember. Yeah, definitely. You know, these cold temperatures are going to take us through at least tomorrow and then things start to turn around by the end of the week. But in the meantime, try to limit your time outdoors if you can. Again, the coldest time of day is during the morning hours. So if you have to go outside, just dress in layers, bundle up. And also if you are taking your car, try to warm it up ahead of time so that you're not getting into a cold vehicle and just be aware that you can also winterize your home, getting your home ready for the winter season by making sure that everything is insulated correctly. Check on your check on the elderly and the pets as they are susceptible to hypothermia and very cold temperatures that we are experiencing right now, over the next couple of hours still stuck in the thirties overnight, it gets even colder, feeling like the teens waking up tomorrow morning. So even though that's a thermometer is going to be 28 it's gonna feel like the teens 15 to 20 degrees out there over portions of the borough and even the city, the blustery winds is what's making it feel even colder tomorrow afternoon won't feel as harsh temperatures in upper thirties, near 40 degrees, a blend of sun and clouds but still cold and breezy throughout the day. Tomorrow, we're going to see the sunshine. Some clouds begin to filter in late but still going remain dry. Thursday. Your best bet to really go outside. Enjoy the sunshine and the slightly milder temperatures we're welcoming back the forties. So that's something that you can look forward to a little bit milder on our Friday. But this time it comes with some rain. So it looks like the best chance to start seeing some wet weather move into our area will be Friday afternoon, even lingering into Friday evening. Saturday does start off dry, but it looks like we're ending the weekend with some wet weather even continuing into early next week.

Celebrity Buzz: Bronx native, ‘Elvis Duran’ co-host Danielle Monaro

Celebrity buzz segment. We highlight some of the amazing celebrities to call our borough home. In this afternoon, we've got a special guest whose voice you probably recognize Bronx native and co host of Ellis Duran and the morning show, Danielle Danielle. Thank you so much for joining us today. Uh I know, I know you are a Bronx native grown up here of Preston High School to kind of take me back to, uh, you know, growing up in the borough things you remember and, and kind of, uh, how it shaped you into the person you are today. Yeah. So we grew up born and raised in the Bronx. Um, went to Preston High School freshman year. Actually, Jennifer Lopez was my choreographer in high school because she went to Preston High School. Um, and then we wound up sophomore year leaving Preston and going to Christopher Columbus High School, uh, which I spent the rest of my high school years. I absolutely loved. It was awesome when I lived in the Bronx. This is kind of funny. I lived next door to Eddie Fast and his family. Now, you don't know who that is. He was head security at Yankee Stadium and back when I was growing up, he was actually George Steinbrenner's bodyguard. So I grew up with George Steinbrenner pulling up next to my house in his limo for years. Um, so, you know, part of my Yankee heritage, my Bronx heritage, uh growing up next to the head of security Yankee Stadium, that's probably creates a little, uh creates some nice opportunities for you perhaps to go to some Yankee games now. Right? You get in the, to the Yankee Stadium a little easier. Yes, it is now. And uh Eddie and I have been friends, he's been friends with the family for years. So it's wonderful. Awesome. Now, now, what exactly made you want to get into the uh the entertainment and, and talking industry? So I actually wanted to, when I was younger, I either wanted to perform on Broadway, perform in Disney World, uh, or be a television reporter. Right? But when I went to college, I actually went to Saint John's University and I met a random girl in the elevator and she said, said to me, hey, do you want to do the news on the radio station at Saint John's was WSJU and I was like, ok, so I went to the radio station, I fell in love with radio. I never went near the television station and wound up interning here and just have been here for almost 28 years. Now. Can you talk a little bit about the relationship with the listeners because I feel like, you know, when you're on the radio, you're kind of with people as they're driving to work, driving home. What's that relationship like with, with people around the city? Our listeners are like family to us. Um We've grown up with them. I know that, you know, I've gone, I got engaged on the air. I went into labor with my first child on the air. And many people have followed this journey and they will say, oh my gosh, I was pregnant when you were pregnant or, you know, whatever. Now my son is getting ready to leave for college and they're going through that journey with me. Um, so we've grown up together. Um, they're very loyal. They're like our friends. They'll come up to us on the street and give us hugs, say hello, have a chat and it's wonderful. It's really, we really do have some of the best listeners. We're very blessed, awesome stuff. I want to end with a look forward to the next generation. Do you have any advice for young girls in the borough? Maybe hoping to break into the industry and have a career, maybe similar to what you've enjoyed. Well, first of all, I want to tell you don't lose your accent because they, you know, at first people were telling me you're never gonna be able to do radio. You never gonna be able to TV. Without, with that Bronx accent and I was like, ok, so they tried to get me to lose it. And the reason I got the on air gig was actually because of my Bronx accent. Our program director, Tom Pullman loved that. I was the native New Yorker, loved that. I had that accent and that's how I got the job. He said, don't lose that accent. Be true to who you are. So I always done that but also try to intern where you want to end up. So if you want to end up at a radio station, if you want to end up at a television station, a magazine, any place like this, try to intern where you want to end up because that's what I did. And I was very lucky because they were hiring and they were kind of promoting people from within. They saw what I could do. They had, you know, had some faith in me and that's how I wound up where I am today. All right, Danielle, thank you for taking this little trip down memory lane list. We appreciate it.
