On the last day of February, New Yorkers finally got their blanket of snow.
The National Weather Service reports Central Park received 1.8 inches, exciting both tourists and residents alike.
“I’ve been waiting for the snow for months, and I was so excited to walk through Central Park on my way to work,” said Kathleen, a New Yorker who also revealed she had been tracking the forecast.
For some first-time tourists, like Liandri who is from South Africa, the snow was an added bonus to exploring the park.
“Walking in the snow like this - it’s an experience of a lifetime - [I’m] so lucky!” exclaimed Liandri.
News 12 Storm Watch Team meteorologists are monitoring another possible snowfall on Friday, even though Thursday's forecast could climb close to the 60s.
