A church in West Farms held its annual Thanksgiving food giveaway Monday.

The Union Grove Baptist Church hosted its Feed the Community event by passing out 1,500 boxes of food.

Thousands lined up to get their hands on a box, which includes a week's worth of food for a family of four.

The event started in 2012 as a way to provide 600 families with food and personal care products, but quickly became an annual community effort.
