Cinderblocks crashed down from a Grand Concourse building Sunday, sending three people to St. Barnabas Hospital.
Fire officials say part of the building near E. 183rd Street gave way around 8 a.m. Authorities say up to 1,000 pounds of rubble fell from the roof, partially amputating a 12-year-old boy's leg. Another boy and a woman were also injured.
An investigation is ongoing into the cause of the collapse at the building, which had been leaning prior to the accident. The Department of Buildings and Office of Emergency Management are deciding what to do with the structure.
