City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams delivered her first State of the City Address at Sonia Sotomayor Houses in the Bronx on Wednesday.
Her address focused on jobs, housing and building a healthier New York City. She also touched on topics such as gun violence, new expansions coming to the city and investments to be made into the City Universities of New York.
Adrienne Adams was joined by Mayor Eric Adams, Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson and more. Her vision for the city includes new and improved affordable housing, and a multimillion-dollar expansion for workforce development in Harlem and the Bronx.
“We can and we will pave the way forward for us to succeed together,” said Adams.
Adams also took the time to acknowledge how fitting it was for her speech to be held on International Women’s Day, highlighting the first-ever women-majority in City Council history.
