The City Island Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Halloween parade Friday night.
The parade started at 5:30 p.m. at Hawkins Park and traveled down City Island Avenue, ending at Pelham Cemetery.
The parade lets families celebrate the holiday by trick-or-treating at all the houses along the parade’s path.
"We bought this house a few years ago and we're on the parade route..." says Christopher, a life-long City Island resident, "...so we decorate and we always get really into it."
Trick-or-treaters of all ages were dressed up to visit the houses. Life-long residents came, along with visitors from hours away. Even pets were dressed for the occasion.
"I think it's amazing. It was never this big when we were kids. It's gotten bigger every year," Christopher shares.
"This is the place to be on Halloween," shared another Bronx resident.
This is the 33rd year the parade has been held, and it shows no signs of stopping.
