The City Council Committee on Public Housing held an oversight hearing on the air quality in NYCHA apartments today.
The group addressed the New York City Housing Authority's efforts on highlighting causes of adverse air quality. Councilmembers discussed several potential causes including mold, ongoing construction, lead and more.
The committee will consider a resolution calling on the state legislature and governor to provide an additional $3 billion in funding to NYCHA to address its infrastructure needs.
