The Department of Homeless Services held an outreach program along the Grand Concourse Saturday morning to help vulnerable families keep their homes.
Officials used the event to spread the word about Homebase, a program that provides a network of resources for families at risk of eviction.
"It's been really positive," says Charles Blackstone of the Department of Homeless Services. "A lot of people are very excited to find out about the resources that are available to them. We want to share that with the community."
Organizers say they see a spike in the number of families who enter homeless shelters during the summer months.
