The owners of a Bronx newsstand say they're moving from the Fordham neighborhood after more than a decade of business.
Nabila Newsstand operates under a concession agreement through the New York City Parks and Recreation Department. But in March, that comes to an end.
Recently, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Mayor Eric Adam's announced a plan to transform vacant newsstands into "street hubs" for bike-riding food delivery workers to rest and recharge.
News 12 asked the Parks Department about the potential closure of Nabila Newsstand and responded: "The selection of deliverista hubs is not yet final, and conversations are ongoing between city hall, the community board, and relevant stakeholders."
