Demolition and cleanup efforts are continuing more than a month after a massive fire tore through multiple homes in Fordham.
Juan Gonzalez is just one of many people impacted by the fire on Valentine Avenue. He actually lives behind the row of houses that went up in flames, and all he can see out his window is charred rumble.
He says he's concerned about what impact this weekend's storm might have on his home, considering all the renovations ongoing.
Behind Gonzalez's home lies a demolition site, which is still active. Crews are continuing to take down some of the structures irreparably damaged by the fire.
One of those recently torn down homes belonged to Charles Richards. His brothers lived in the home and, like all tenants displaced by the fire, are staying elsewhere. He says he hopes to build another home at some point.
