A cleanup is underway for the debris caused during the partial building collapse at the Prospect Lefferts Gardens apartment on Friday.
The incident occurred at the Tivoli Towers, a large high-rise apartment building that residents and elected officials say has had problems for years.
Officials said bricks fell from the façade of the building and landed on other apartment roofs.
Attorney General Letitia James also met with residents and said her office is investigating whether the building’s water issues had anything to do with the collapse.
Several city agencies including the FDNY, NYPD, Office of Emergency Management, and the Department of Buildings were on the scene. Officials say the building is structurally sound, but four apartments were affected on the 22nd floor.
The Department of Emergency Management confirmed four units were damaged and two families evacuated the building.
News 12 has been told the repair work has been expedited. They also say a crane is arriving Sunday to remove bricks.
