Resident celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month Sunday in Co-op City.

The free event was held at the Dreiser Community Center.

It featured food, music and dancing.

Rafael Gonzalez attended the event with his girlfriend. He says he’s worried about his family in Puerto Rico, and says this celebration couldn't have come at a better time.

"It means a lot because there is family that I have not heard from ever since the hurricane, so I'm very concerned," he says.
