Some residents in Co-op City say bright lights from electric billboards are a nuisance that must go. 

There are currently four bright billboards there, and plans for another have been put on hold, according to the Board of Standards and Appeals. 

Residents who rallied Thursday on Bartow and Baychester avenues say the triangular billboards went up after Christmas and have been a disruption ever since. The signs are about the same height as residential buildings. Residents say they are bright and shine into their bedrooms all night long. 

"I'm hoping that we get a chance to sit with Baychester Realty III, LLC and have a conversation on how we improve this," said Co-op City resident Sandy Krasnove. 

A meeting between the community and the realty company who owns the billboards is scheduled for next month. Baychester Realty did not respond to News 12 requests for comment.
