A Bronx woman is organizing a blood drive after losing her child.
Jasmine Williams gave birth to a stillborn baby daughter named Sage last year. Doctors couldn't save Sage's life, but a blood transfusion saved Williams' life.
Williams is organizing the Commemorating Sage blood drive at Mount Sinai Baptist Church on Nov. 2. Williams chose to hold the drive at the church because she has been a member at the church for over 14 years.
The blood drive is being held in collaboration with the New York Blood Center.
Williams is also hoping for Commemorating Sage to become an annual event, perhaps with a food drive next year.
