Community advocates held a rally Tuesday in the West Farms section of the Bronx to call for an end to gun violence. 

Organizers tell News 12 this comes after parents in the neighborhood have expressed their concerns in the wake of several shootings. 

The 48th Precinct, which covers the area of West Farms, East Tremont and Belmont, has reported a 200% increase in shooting incidents. 

In response to the increase in violence, the 48th Precinct has stationed a police car near West Farms for several weeks now. 

They say there have already been six shootings reported this year. This time last year, they say only two had been reported. 

The rally took place next to a playground that is set to open in the next few months, which will attract more families with kids. 

The community says they are nervous that the shootings will continue and that someone could be seriously injured.
