Community Board 10 voted Thursday night on the controversial Bally's Casino, marking another step in determining the fate of a casino downstate.

Throgs Neck community members voiced both their concerns and support for the potential casino at a meeting at Villa Barone.

The vote is just another step in the lengthy process, with many more steps needed before the 200,000-square-foot casino at its golf course in Ferry Point Park can get the go ahead.

Some residents raised concerns over the impact of the casino, saying it could alienate parkland and bring more traffic to the area.

Bally's, however, continues its fight to get community support behind the project by announcing a community benefits package that they say will bring new opportunities and 4,000 new jobs for the borough.

They also have a plan to help city parks care for space, donate to youth sports and local business and make the park itself easier to get to with added bus stops and free shuttles.

News 12 was also told residents can buy in and become part owners.

Bally's will still need to win one of the state gaming commission's three licenses for a casino downstate.
