Community comes together to honor Brownsville man fatally shot
According to police, Tahriq Thompson was shot and killed just outside the Riverdale Towers early Sunday morning.

Friends, family and loved ones came together Thursday night to honor 34-year-old Tahriq Thompson.
“Tahriq…if you knew him, you loved him. He poured his love into everybody," said Jammel Thompson, Tahriq's brother.
According to police, Thompson was shot and killed just outside the Riverdale Towers early Sunday morning.
“Random senseless gun violence in the street," said Jammel Thompson.
Jammel Thompson, who ran for Brooklyn City Council in the recent primary, says gun violence like this is why he ran in the first place.
“My brothers mission, my mission was to change all that, help generations after us, help generations before us," said Thompson.
