City officials are looking to improve Frisch Field in Bedford Park.

Neighbors say the field located at the corner of Bedford Park and Mosholu Parkway has been in need of repairs for the past two decades.

Councilman Andrew Cohen held a press conference in Riverdale to call for renovations to the field.

Cohen plans to dedicate funding for Frisch Field. He says the field is in desperate need of new drainage and resurfacing.

The field is named after Bronx baseball Hall of Famer "Frankie" Frisch, who was known as the Fordham Flash in the early 1900s.

Frisch Field is currently used as a softball field but many in the community want to see it utilized for other purposes.
