Family, friends, elected officials and members of the NYPD packed St. Patrick's Cathedral in Midtown to say their final goodbyes to Joe Esposito, the former police chief.
The Brooklyn native died at the age of 73 on Jan. 9 after a battle with cancer.
Mayor Eric Adams paid tribute to his friend of almost 30 years, saying Esposito lived his life to the fullest and his dedication to New York City is unmatched.
Esposito previously served as New York City's emergency management commissioner and Department of Buildings deputy commissioner for enforcement.
