A DJ company is giving lessons to students at P.S. 226 in Morris Heights.
Instructor Jeffrey McAllister, of Spin City, meets with students once a week.
The program started just eight weeks ago and already has 12 students, but is looking to expand to New York City Housing Authority complexes and other schools in hopes of inspiring more musicians.
McAllister says teaching kids at a young age helps because DJing is not an easy skill to master.
