Con Edison says it plans to work on areas that have been impacted the hardest like Baychester, Riverdale, Throgs Neck and Sheepshead Bay.

It also is allowing customers who have been without power for more than two days to fill out a claim to be reimbursed for items that may have spoiled due to the outage.

Con Edison tells News 12 that the storm caused damage to infrastructure that require extensive repairs. The company says if there are downed wires in the area, residents should not touch them because they could be live.
