Major improvements are coming to NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island using $17 million in capital funding, thanks in part to several city elected officials.
The 26,000-square-foot ambulatory care space will include more than 50 exam rooms.
Svetlana Lipyanskaya, the hospital's CEO, says it will greatly improve service.
“What this is going to allow us to do is to really decompress and really offer a patient-centered experience, and to be able to offer more primary care and frankly more specialty care as well, because we’re going to be able to shift things around,” she says.
The renovated space will be part of the future South Brooklyn Health Campus opening in 2022.
