Constant car break-ins continue to frustrate Woodlawn tenants

Woodlawn residents are concerned following at least 10 car break-ins in under a week.
Wayne McLoughlin says he woke up Wednesday morning to see his truck ransacked and his windows broken.
He says nothing was stolen, but that since the holidays the community has had about 40 break-ins.
"It's just happening and happening and happening again," McLoughlin says. "Somebody has to do something about it."
Since last Wednesday, police tell News 12 there have been 10 criminal mischief complaints on file but the building superintendent and tenants of 4320 Van Cortland Park East say there have been more than 20 incidents.
Residents say they haven't heard of anything ever being stolen from inside the cars that are broken into.
The super says the building's new surveillance cameras haven't caught a glimpse of the person or people vandalizing the cars.
Police tell News 12 the commanding officer in that precinct is aware of the situation and working with the community to make things safer.
