Construction continues on a temporary bridge that will replace the current span on City Island.
There were some minor delays in construction during the winter due to the harsh weather.
The new temporary bridge is being constructed to replace the current one, which is more than 100 years old.
News 12 spoke with City Island residents who say they've already noticed the progress made.
Construction crews are using heavy-duty cranes and other equipment to align the causeway in a permanent spot.
Once built, the temporary bridge will have two lanes and a designated fire lane, which residents say is needed for safety.
Once the temporary bridge is up, work crews will begin to demolish the old span and start constructing the permanent bridge, which is expected to be completed in 2016.
