One of four officers involved in the fatal 1999 shooting of an unarmed Bronx immigrant has gotten his police-issued gun back.
According to authorities, Amadou Diallo was mistaken for a rape suspect. They say the officers opened fire as he reached for what they thought was a gun, but later turned out to be his wallet.
All four officers were acquitted of criminal charges and cleared of any wrongdoing by internal affairs.
Kenneth Boss spent 13 years fighting to get his gun back and is the only one who remains with the NYPD.
