A district leader and board of elections employee in the Bronx has been arrested and slammed with a slew of charges, according to court documents.

Court documents revealed Nicole Torres illegally demanded payments from Bronx residents in exchange for selecting them as poll workers. The documents say she also lied about the dates that those poll workers were on the clock, pocketing their paychecks.

The fraudulent payments amounted to over $60,000 over the course of the last five years.

Torres has been charged with bribery, extortion, fraud and identity theft.
