Co-op City residents officially have a COVID-19 testing center in their neighborhood.
The center, which opened Wednesday, is located in one of the largest residential neighborhoods with more than 44,000 residents, many of them seniors.
The River Bay Corporation hosted the ribbon-cutting ceremony welcoming the new testing site for the community and their partnership with North Central Hospital. The center will be operating as a walk-in center seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 105 Dreiser Loop.
After checking in, patients will be asked a series of questions and then professionals will perform a nose swap.
All patients will need is an ID, and the entire process takes about 20 minutes. Patients should get their results within seven to 10 days.
